Isn't it quite possible that smart phones will take over soon? I've just received an Android phone and it took pretty short time to find some free English-Japanese electronic dictionaries on "Market". My current favourite is Aedict. Unfortunately, it does not pronounce the words but is very good at helping you learn the Kanji and it gives you lots of example sentences.
