What exactly does “Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu” mean? + Star Wars

Q: What is the best translation of Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu?

A: You hear lots of different ways of saying this, most of which don’t really capture the real meaning.  Things like “Please look after me” or “I wish everything works out”

But there is one English phrase that sums up “Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu”  perfectly, in all it’s different meanings.

And that phrase is ….

May the Force be with you!

Just try, it works every time!

(Similarly I watched the new Karate Kid movie the other day and Jackie Chan was trying to explain the meaning of 氣 – chi.   After a while Jaden Smith comes out with “Oh, you mean it’s like the Force, in Star Wars!”   And yep, I guess that’s the best translation of “chi”,  or “ki” as you say in Japanese.  So the symbols for 元気 Genki, as in GenkiJapan.net,  just mean the “Origin of your Force.”)

May the ki be with you!
